Passenger Rights

In February2005, thenew EU-rulesin the Regulation261/2004on air passenger rights came into effect. This results, among other things, ingreater financialcompensation topassengersaffected bythe delay, cancellation oroverbooking.

To be covered by the regulation, the flights have either departure airport within the EU or destination airport within the EU. If the departure airport located outside the EU and the airport lies within the EU, and the airline does not belong to an EU country, it does not apply.

EU applies both scheduled and charter flights.

The regulation states that air passengers have certain rights in case of denied boarding, cancellation of flights and long delays. If you think that your rights are not met, you can complain to the Public Transport Authority.
